Dec. 5th, 2000 06:31 amI've been busy as hell with work. This is far from typical, but I'm not complaining. Even my worst nights on the job are a vacation compared to some of the jobs I've had previously. I've spent most of my freetime this morning trying to help Scout-Sniper get Counter-Strike working properly. A new invisible-skin cheat has surfaced, and we installed the new model files that pinpoint a cheater. Somehow Scout's directory is borked even though he used the same files that I did. He got fed up with it and left irc to lie down.
Virgil gave me the news that Roseanne's husband died of esophagial cancer. Roseanne is our associate director. I feel terrible about it...she got me this job and is always super-cool when I talk to her. Mike (my boss) says that I remind her of her son. He ended his own life by stepping in front of a train when he was my age. Some of the things that other people have to deal with bring our own fortune to light...but it's easily forgotten each time we complain about even the most trivial of matters.
