  • I haven't had a Migraine in three weeks since I stopped drinking Diet Mountain Dew.

  • Played the Left 4 Dead 2 demo...I hope the full release offers something innovative enough to sustain interest. I really expected a bit more from the demo.

  • Installing CentOS 5.4 on a Server...brushing up on Linux administration. This has been an interesting (ie. successful) crash course in oddball driver error configuration.

  • Replacing my home pc's hard-drive...lack of 3.5" floppy necessitated the creation of a SATA driver slipstream into the XP install via nLite. I'll see if it works when I get home.

  • Typing this on my laptop on which I just recently installed Windows 7. It runs like a snap, and this system is several years old.

  • Shitty weather leads to nerdy undertakings.

  • Flying my 4-Channel RC Helicopter on a clear day over the weekend was approximately 10,000x harder than flying the E-Sky simulator. Crash, fetch, crash, fetch, crash, fetch, crash...

  • Devin Townsend Project - Addicted (with Anneke van Giersbergen) is amazing. (see below)

  • The appropriate police personnel are never around when I try to get my Grandad's gun from evidence storage. I'm trying to get it for my brother.

  • I've recently seen some great movies: Let the Right One In, The Story of Anvil, Trick r'Treat, Murder Party and Tideland.

  • I also saw G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, but that was just silly.

Yes, messed up...and it didn't fare well with the critics. I thought the young girl who played the protagonist was excellent, and the story while uncomfortable was intriguing. And when I watched it, I was also half-intoxicated.

I'd probably still not buy a record but it was a good watch.

I had "Metal on Metal" stuck in my head for a few days. But I haven't acquired anything of theirs yet and I very likely won't. I hope they make a fortune on 15 minutes of novelty alone.

Glad your migraines have gone away. Did you ever get the hang of flying the helicopter? That sounds like it would be a lot of fun.

Not so much. ...and I've been using the Clearview RC simulator (http://rcflightsim.com/) with an ESKY usb controller (http://www.amazon.com/ESKY-EK2-0905A-Flight-Simulator-controller/dp/7293000014/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1258638763&sr=8-2) for months. While I'm pretty good on the simulator....not so much with my helicopter.

I didn't know they made such things? Is it so you can practice with the simulator and not risk crashing your real RC helicopter while you learn the controls? I bought my boyfriend a little remote control helicopter that he had liked but we never did figure out how to do much more than make it go up and down. Controlling its direction wasn't happening. Lots of buzzing in circles.

It was a 2-channel then, which only allows for thrust and yaw. A 4-channel allows you to adjust the pitch as well, which allows you adjust the plane of the blade and make it go forward, backwards, into the tree, into the shrubs, into the ground or straight after your wife/significant-other. The 2-channel models like your bf's stay level, so the only way to control their direction is by manipulating the yaw.

Caffeine can cause migraines, as well. I couldn't drink it until almost high school for that very reason. One reason I started going overboard when I could, I guess. Now, it's the opposite problem for me. I seem to recall things like aged cheese and certain types of fish being on my no-eat list as well.

Caffeine isn't a problem. I drink coffee and the very occasional soda without a hitch. I'm positive it was the Aspartame. As soon as I quit drinking Diet Mt. Dew, the neverending flurry of migraines quit.
