on sleepwalking...
Jul. 17th, 2008 10:42 pmThe other night whilest sleeping I remember vaguely a dream I was having about crawling into the attic to work on or fix something. I can't recall exactly what I was planning on doing, because I awoke standing in pitch black darkness. I couldn't see anything, let alone my hand in front of my face. I stepped forward a couple of times and felt clothes hanging on hangers. "I'm in the coat closet downstairs!" I thought as I reached back to open the door. It wasn't there. Confused...borderline panic. I stepped back forward, found the clothes again, and followed the wall by feel until I found a door frame. It seemed like it took an hour. I recognized it, as the door to Bran's walk in closet is uncannily short...like six foot tall where I have to slightly duck under it. Once I had my bearing I found the lightswitch and my way out of the closet. The access to the attic is right behind those clothes...I'm glad I didn't get any farther before I awoke.
I don't know that I've ever sleepwalked before, but that was a surreal feeling of teleportation that I really don't want to experience again.
On an unrelated topic, I've picked almost a gallon of blackberries over the past two days. I also installed a windshield on Virgil's/Bran's bike. I don't like it, but hopefully she thinks it helps with the wind/bugs/rain.
