I don't watch much television that isn't DVR'd, but is the media really ignoring the fact that Bush is being impeached? The Raw Story seems to think so.

I've found Olbermann's spots starting with this:

90% of Americans will pay less income tax under Obama than McCain. Here are the numbers you can (hope to) expect based on your annual income.

I was going to link a video with John McCain explaining that he has no idea how to use a computer, but that's a trivial matter based on reader perspective and simply infodump clutter.

I find it quite striking that the White House is still claiming that the principal reason for the precipitous jump in oil prices is the rise in global demand, when according to Chevron Vice President of Strategic Planning, Paul Siegele, demand is not currently on the rise. and yet...Senate Republicans Block Windfall Profits Tax on Big Oil Companies.

I know politics is a boring subject, but the information is blatant these days and our representatives are only representing their wallets own best interests. It's becoming harder not to exclaim these things on a streetcorner.

On a brighter note...a Lioness nursing her cubs on a live cam...here

And did you know that intelligent people are less likely to believe in God? Funny...that.

My main news source is NPR, which has had some coverage of the impeachment stuff. I don't really watch/listen to other news sources because they annoy me (and because our sat is on the fritz right now), so I have no idea what the coverage is like anywhere else.

I imagine it's getting no coverage since it's probably just a futile gesture at this point. If it gets through a vote, that would probably get some attention.

Honestly, I could give a shit about who is going to tax more or tax less. What I want to hear is "we're going to do something more responsible with your money".

This whole tax rebate thing to stir up the economy? Not responsible. Not practical.

Taking all the money from the tax rebate thing and sticking it into a renewable energy program, maybe looking for a temporary stopgap measure to reduce our dependance on foreign oil whilst developing a viable replacement fuel source that doesn't rely upon pushing carbon around? Responsible.

I want government that doesn't suck. More vs less taxes doesn't address that fucking concern one iota.

IMHO, nailing Big Oil with extra taxes sends the wrong message (if you are successful, we are going to tax the fuck out of you). Investigating said corporations and looking for wrong-doing (price-fixing, intentional over-speculation) sends the right message.

I can't agree more...just putting practical info out there for some to consider.

Taxing the fuck out of successful businesses will lead them to oh, Mexico and the like. As if that's not happening enough.

One word that you mentioned should sum it up: RESPONSIBLE. I'm really pressed for time or I'd comment more on this.
