Must...fight...gag reflex.

Even ten years ago (see: Roughnecks: The Starship Troopers Chronicles) these teasers' cgi aesthetic would have been considered non-stylized and lame. I might be surprised...but this one could have a deafening suck that defeats any prior deafening suck heard within the Star Wars canon.

Is there a trailer for this? "In theaters"?!? Looks like TV material to me.

Lucas has to keep milking his "genius" though. The power of Christ compels him.

Star Wars fans will get an unprecedented look at the newest intergalactic adventure on Thursday, May 8, when the world-premiere trailer for the upcoming CG-animated movie Star Wars: The Clone Wars debuts across five Turner networks simultaneously.

At 7:58 p.m. in all U.S. time zones, Cartoon Network, TNT, TBS, CNN, and Boomerang will debut an action-packed, two-minute preview of the animated adventure from creator George Lucas and Lucasfilm Animation. It marks the first time a theatrical trailer has received a simultaneous, cross-network airing on Turner Networks. The trailer debuts in theaters on Friday, May 9, along with the first poster for the movie....

Star Wars: The Clone Wars opens in movie theaters Aug. 15.

I can understand elaborating on the canon...but "milking" seems to be the correct word...this is yet another animated clone wars series. It may be completely different than the Cartoon Network Clone Wars series...but I wouldn't be surprised if it's redundant.

Meh. I haven't followed any of this since the original Trilogy. None of the rest seemed worth it. The first two films were good, the third one failed, but was watchable. Nothing I heard about the other ones motivated me enough to watch them.

All the Philip Dick works have been good movies, and there have been intersting things mixed in (Fifth Element, etc.). I don't miss Star Wars - it just became too hokey.

I have tentative good news and bad news.

I was at some cons recently where we got a little bit of sneak peekage at The Clone Wars.

The ships and backgrounds, etc. are GORGEOUS. BEAUTIFUL. The facial stylizations are...er... well. I don't like 'em.

On the other hand, the folks from the creative team working on the series are Big Ole Geeks like us and seem really stoked to be working on the project.

So, in summary, here is my hope/feeling. IF the dialogue and plots are good, I think I could get used to the extreme stylization of the characters. And I have some hope that this will be the case. IF the dialogue and plotlines really DON'T work then yes, this series will be able to suck-start a leafblower.

But I am hopeful, and am looking forward to the debut, in spite of aesthetic gripes.

Man, I'm so over the episode 1-3 timeline it ani't even funny. I'd much rather Lucas did something related to 4-6.

I was so disappointed by Episode 1 that I haven't seen the rest of the new Star Wars movies. That poster isn't really making me regret that.

Can't argue! I still think this may be redundant...and again I can't stand the look of it, but I'm hopeful that I'm proven wrong!

Agreed, but i don't think gennady(sp?) has anything to do with this.

Everything I've read about this is that everything looks spectacular... except for humans.
