Oh yeah. I am all over that. KDE 4? Sweet. I just changed my install to kubuntu-desktop to get ready for when the servers cool off a little.

I haven't played with any of the more recent releases, but I was less than impressed with the final release of KDE4 4.0. Seriously lacking polish. It does have serious potential, but it's definitely a lot rougher than what I normally expect from .0 releases of software. I'll have to download Hardy though and see what the Ubuntu folks have done with it and how KDE4 has matured now that it has a few point releases under it's belt.

Well, I just switched from Gnome to KDE, and while I like the way Gnome looks (and I still use some of the programs, like the Gimp and Firefox), KDE just seems to have an overall setup that is easier to get work done with.

I don't mind lack of polish, if it gets updated over time (it is kind of fun to watch your desktop get better), as long as the functionality is there.

Ya, I downloaded and installed SP3 yesterday when I found out it was up on TechNet. No major changes, but it feels snappier than SP2, but that may just be a placebo effect since I read several reports from folks using the betas/RCs that said it was faster than SP2. Having IE7 integrated would be nice, but since (as I know from personal experience at work) there's still a lot of business webapps that don't support it I completely understand why they left it out.

SP3 ate my children!
Hardy Heron...well, since it's my first Ubuntu installation, I don't really have any basis for comparison. I did swap it to KDE vs Gnome...since they use KDE at school, figured it's just be easier that way. Gnome does have that nice wobbly window effect though....

I noticed the name Lou Scheimer attached to that Captain Marvel clip. Sound familiar? It was his hand-written signature you saw at the beginning of every He-Man episode. Incidently, there was a character from the Shazam! tv show, Isis, who made her debut not too long ago in the comics world, in the pages of 52...
