I wish I had a Print Screen button to image-capture whatever I happen to be looking at through my Jeep's windshield at any given moment in time. On my drive to work tonight I saw 3 deer, 2 foxes, 1 raccoon, 2 possums, 1 dog, and 2 police roadside auto searches. I've actually been enjoying the 40 mile woodsy trek from Illinois to Indiana since the move to the new house. It's like Mutual of Omaha's Rural Kingdom or some shit. Now I have to try to keep from turning our furry woodland creatures into roadkill.

I moved to Palestine, Illinois...which is about this far south of you. It's a very small and quiet town.

Almost...too quiet.

What do you think of that Dickinson disc, btw?

I think it's a great album. Even the couple of more mediocre songs aren't all that flawed and have some redeeming qualities. Just as the repetitive chorus of River of No Return starts to get on my nerves, the song takes a great instrumental turn at about 3:15 or so and makes you wonder what Adrian Smith could have contributed to the album had he contributed lead-work. A Chemical Wedding is a hard act to follow for Dickinson and Roy Z's collaborative efforts. Tyranny of Souls may not be AS good as a whole, but it has some totally killer songs (Abduction,Kill Devil Hill, ...Seas of the Sun, A Tyranny of Souls) and the remainder are better than almost anything off of Maiden's last two albums Bored to Death and Bored New World.

How do you like it?

clicky

That would be badass. Time to mod your car: duct tape a digital camera (or webcam) to the hood, and hook a cable release to it, through your window, leaving the cable release button in your car.

One thing I forgot to mention was the number of bugs that go splat against the windshield and front of the car. Any mounted lense would quickly be obscured by bug-splat.

On a not unreleated note, after getting off work last night I drove across town to get dinner. Just before the Taco place I was heading there's a long bend in the road. Going in the other direction was a fire engine, sirens going and lights flashing.

I saw the guy tap the breaks just before about the apex, causing the nose on the truck to dip a bit. The firetruck then terrifingly started to fishtail, with the back portion of the truck sliding out into my lane.

I was lucky, the guy wrenched the thing around and managed not to total our car and kill me.

Didn't you pull over to the side of the road?

Yes, but a firetruck is much longer than the road is wide where he was fishtailing.
