I hope to have my student loan paid off by November, which is when my auto insurance rates will also drop. At that time I'll make a decision on changing either my living arrangement or getting new wheels.
My web-hosting with Verizon is currently nonexistant or I'd post some pictures from the weekend. There was some serious retarded muppetage captured in digital during Saturday night's wedding reception of my friend and pseudo-sister Kim.
The two night bender of Friday and Saturday landed me two dates on Sunday...one for lunch and one for dinner. Ironically, my lunch date stood me up two hours after I called her on Sunday morning to confirm plans. I waited for her for about forty minutes before leaving the restaurant parking lot, driving around and looking at new and used cars, and then calling her house. Her brother said that she was asleep. The irony lies in the fact that I almost called and cancelled the date with her initially, but then thought that I might as well have a casual lunch...to no avail. I'm not calling her again. Later that evening I had plans with someone that I met at the wedding reception.
My step-dad embarrassed me by calling out this girl who they thought kept eyeing me from a couple of tables away. It turns out that he was right, but he was so drunk and persistent in his role as matchmaker even after I went and sat with her that all the humility I've ever possessed drifted away among the flotsam in waves of alcohol. Whatever it was that he or I was doing seemed to work as she danced and talked with me the rest of the night, and then drove an hour to come have dinner with me the next. At the risk of sounding like a condescending fuckstick, I have to say that while I really enjoyed spending time with her on both occasions, and she was super-cute, classy and sweet, she falls a little short in intelligence criteria. I'm not sure how to explain it, and I may even have read her wrong. I know that I'm far from perfect. Given her good qualities, I'll get to know her better (if she even has likewise aspirations) before admonishing myself.
It's funny how Internet Explorer has given me an "Illegal Operation" message with a close-program prompt, and I have continued to update this journal entry instead of pushing the button while it menacingly hovers there on top of any other window that I may be using. Not really funny-haha. Just funny.

Date: 2003-09-30 10:09 pm (UTC)The reason the insurance is so much different is the weight/power ratio. If I remember, the GT coupe was 1400, the GT convertable was 1800, and the Bullit was 2500. The reason the bullit was so much more expensive was that it's performance rating put it into the "high-end performance" spectrum up there with Saleen and the like. In fact, it was about the same to insure a Bullit as it was a Corvette.
