that sounds craptastic. but i will see if for it has jason lee in it. i even watched heart breakers because he was in it. what a fucking piece of shit. that movie sucked a whole bag full of dicks.
ok, i have an opinion on this movie.. not educated, but.. is it ever?
anyway, at Comic Con last month i went to a Warner Bros. panel that had lots of famous people there and sneak previews of upcoming movies. Jason Lee and Timothy Olphant (sp?) were there taking questions and talking about the movie and they showed the trailer. all you can tell from the plot is that it is majorly fucked up. it starts off showing Jason & Timothy in a cabin, opening the door to see animals running past and a helicopter flying above saying 'do not leave your cabin, this area is under quarantine'.. next, it shows one of them meeting and Indian in the woods. they say hi to the indian, and the indian responds by farting.. have i lost you yet?
next it shows Jason and Timothy run back inside the cabin to find their friend on the toilet. he sat their for a second looking dead, as they suspected, until you hear something plop into the toilet.
'he's ok, he just made a clinker!' Jason exclaims.. then he falls off the toilet with his ass ripped apart or some shit.
no idea what the hell is going on, but i'm going to have to go see it because those 2 are hilarious.. well, not in this movie, but it looks interesting too..
a few people asked questions about parallels with the book, and both responded 'that book was too big for me to read'.
so that's my long drowned out un-educated just reporting what i saw view on this movie i have to see.
and hey, it can't be worse than the new Lucy Liu movie.
Sounds just like the book, sir. Really, I mean really - FUCKED up. But good. When I was reading the book I said to a few people, "this book really needs to be made into a movie." Well...for the most part, because it's that good, and another thing...none of my friends are literate, but they'd go see it in the theater.
Bah. Lawrence Kasdan hasn't done a good movie since...either Accidental Tourist or The Big Chill. What most people don't realize is...this guy fucking WROTE The Empire Strikes Back with some other guy as co-credit and directed Silverado...which was way cool IMHO.
And what's with the Jason Lee love anyway? I don't understand this at all. Must be a Kevin Smith thing...
And what's with the Kevin Smith love anyway? I don't get that either. Clerks was great....anything beyond that, I'm sitting here scratching my head.
Jason Lee love is based mostly upon his outspoken nature in Mallrats, Chasing Amy, and Dogma. he's an all-around funny guy (even when given shit dialogue) and he's a scientologist since hanging w/Tom on the set of Vanilla Sky.. what's not to like?
as for Kevin Smith, have you seen Chasing Amy? Clerks was always my favorite, but Chasing Amy is actually a good movie.. all of his other movies are questionable on quality, just humor-based.

*shrug*
Kevin Smith brought fanboy comedy to the fanboys. He brings it home with his scope on the culture of our generation. This will certainly cast your opinion in stone upon its release.
