Vanilla Cokeā„¢ rates a big blech on the blechometer. I've been taking small sips out of a 20 oz. bottle since midnight because I'm continually thirsty and I don't want to waste it.

I'm reading Breakfast of Champions for the sixth or seventh time. It might be my favorite book. I don't have my new computer mobo yet so I've been doing a bit of reading and/or watching baseball in my spare time. Hall of Fame announcer Jack Buck passed away a few days ago. I grew up listening to him and Mike Shannon give voice to radio broadcasted Cardinal games. And so long, for just a while.

My mom left a voicemail message about a girl she wants to set me up with. She left me her e-mail address and said I should e-mail her. I've hit bottom. My MOM is trying to set me up with women via E-MAIL. How fucked up am I?

Got Metal?

My cd and mp3 list is updated finally for would-be traders.

Trout couldn't tell one politician from another one. They were all formlessly enthusiastic chimpanzees to him. He wrote a story one time about an optimistic chimpanzee who became President of the United States. He called it "Hail to the Chief."

The chimpanzee wore a little blue blazer with brass buttons, and with the seal of the President of the United States sewed to the breast pocket.

Everywhere he went, bands would play "Hail to the Chief." The chimpanzee loved it. He would bounce up and down.
-K. Vonnegut

And so it goes.

My brother went to New Orleans for 3 weeks (he comes home tonight) and I gave him Breakfast of Champions to read while he was gone. Comedy Central was showing the movie, and well, I just can't have that be the only exposure the kid gets to Vonnegut. I'm sure when he returns that he'll be borrowing the other 14 or so Vonnegut books that I actually own.

Speaking of CD and MP3 lists, if you have excel, here's mine. I remember the days when I had it nicely organized in html, but then it just got too big and unmanageable and I'd forget which mp3 cds things were on. Now if I don't have that spreadsheet out when I'm downloading, half the time I'm not sure if I have an album or not. That's the greatest feeling on earth, yes it is.

I haven't seen the movie adaptation. Is it watchable?

Your music collection is trefuckingmendous. If I have anything you want, there are several things that I'd trade for from your list. My ftp site is down though until I get my new mobo...that's generally my preferred method of swapping mp3's.

drop a line to grindbastard@yahoo.com if you're interested.

I actually like Vanilla Coke. But then again, I was the only one who liked Crystal Pepsi. Pleeeeeaaase don't let your mom set you up. Nothing good can come of it (especially through EMAIL). Even if it seems good in the beginning, it's just a disguise for later torment.

really good bad ideas...

1. stupidly flavored sodas.

2. moms setting their kids up on blind dates with a friend of a friend.

sadly enough, I haven't read Breakfast of Champions.. or any Vonnegut book yet I don't think. looks like i have to add him to my list.. along with Kerouac and Nietsche and everyone else i've been missing out on. so many books, so little time. and here i sit reading more Rollins and being contented.

Vanilla Coke was never a good idea.

Breakfast of Champions is a great read, and it's so casual that you'll breeze through it in a couple of sittings.

I dunno. I haven't seen it either. Mother Night is the only Vonnegut movie I've seen...it has been a while but I remember it being okay.

Eep! Eep!

Though, that may sound fucked up... you still have a pretty cool mom.

God, that metal thing is funny.
*bounces up and down*

Crazy Deadly Bamboo Shoots
Amongst see to drift
Children of ornament endeavouring neverending
Slash or the altar
My guide can disconnect me because I expect

(chorus:)
Await or the tear
Impact while the atom
Arrow of shoots shouting sharp
Misty inside, I surge the storm endure
Become your legacy and you'll be perfect

Know since the pride
Wind of menace place the symbol
Of engulf to win
Fragile to be glory

Outside remember to plunder
Maniac of lord desolating slow
Flower of aide liing granted
Kick by the reign of tree

(chorus:)
Await or the tear
Impact while the atom
Arrow of shoots shouting sharp
Misty inside, I surge the storm endure
Become your legacy and you'll be perfect

Blow and the angel
Sanctity of skeleton gleaming crazy
Tragedy of gravel choosing merry
Let out the genocide in me

(chorus:)
Await or the tear
Impact while the atom
Arrow of shoots shouting sharp
Misty inside, I surge the storm endure
Become your legacy and you'll be perfect
