Get your filthy exploitations off me, you damn dirty director.

I think most of us found the remake to be a bit disappointing while nonetheless entertaining, but maybe I'm speaking soley for myself. I don't think the film was diminished by what it lacked, but rather by its excess. MovieBrain more or less thinks that Marky Mark Wahlberg's climactic speech near the end of the story was enough to make any typical human defect to the ape army and attempt to beat into him a suitable amount of acting talent. In a perfect world, any project involving simians wearing clothing is academy award worthy material. My opinion is merely an opinion. Monkeys rule.

I feel the need to defend my position. No matter how good the special effects are they can't make up for lack of plot. And again, this movie did have a plot, but 2-tiered. On one side you had the apes. The makeup/sfx were beyond awesome. They had a deep plot. We cared about the characters. Then we have the humans. No plot developement. Little to no depth. A love story that never was... and oh yeah, the confusing ending. Now, had the human side of the plot made sense, had more plot development, or even felt like it was given a second thought. Oh well.

I agree.

I was going for humorous more than analytical. My opinion is one of a tasteless infidel, so I don't bother going in depth. =)

I hope I didn't vandalize your opinion.
