Jun. 18th, 2001 07:10 amMy friend Jason and his son Dylan stopped by yesterday evening while I was relaxing and talking to a few people online. They were doing the father's day thing and asked if I wanted to go to a movie with them. I said sure, and let his son play around with Quake III Arena while he and I talked. The kid was hyped...I think I scored in the cool adult classification. He asked a lot of surprising questions for someone his age...He was a cool kid too.
The preview for The Lord of the Rings dropped my jaw. I'm hyped.
The preview for The Planet of the Apes dropped my jaw. I'm hyped x2.
Pearl Harbor was pretty good in the formulated romantic super blockbuster special effects sort of way. It was hard not to like, really. It had airplanes, action, airplanes, action, Kate Beckinsale, airplanes, Ben Affleck, Dan Akroyd, Jon Voight, Cuba Gooding, Jr., blockedybustery pretty faces, etc. If you liked Titanic, you would like Pearl Harbor. Titanic + Saving Private Ryan = Pearl Harbor. Yes, that sounds about right.
