Mar. 15th, 2001 04:21 amHardware Error:
What I was told was pc100 128m ram was actually pc66 128m ram. I had set the motherboard to pc100 though I probably should have left it on autodetect anyhow.
Chris from All American Computers Inc. kicks ass. He spent all morning yesterday showing me how to set up my machine. I wouldn't have resolved my woes with Windows 2000 that were stemming from the hardware problem if he wouldn't have found my problem with the ram. He also helped me with reformatting, installing my Win98 se OS, and installing the newest drivers for my peripherals. I learned a lot. I drooled over the GeForce2 cards for a while and then took my box back home.
I installed all my programs and played Alice for a while. Alice is such a visually astounding game that it's worth playing for the eye-candy alone. I've got more games now to play than I have time for...goodbye real world.
Now my plans include upgrading my ram from pc66 to pc133, getting my dsl subscription, and buying a monitor bigger than my 15" squint-vision deluxe extraordinaire.

I got a 19" monitor...wow. It's like being at one of those Omni-Max theaters. I can't even see my wall.
