grindmonkehI got out of bed pretty yesterday evening and rushed to the mailbox in hopes of finding the check from my brother. It was there!!! I showered, dressed, and hurried to the mall. I bought a dvd-rom and an inferior keybaord product (that's artystese). I could only afford to buy the nine dollar keyboard...I wonder how long before its lemming-like tendencies surface. Who knows...when I get home from work maybe I'll discover that it has already hung itself with its own cord.
I installed my dvd-rom. *hyped* * hyped* *hyped* I plugged in my keyboard. *kid with a new toy* I fired it up, and put in the Windows 2000 cd. It formatted the hdd and started installing. *almost imploding under the weight of elation* Installing. Installing. *like waiting for christmas morning* Installing devices. *mmmm...devices*

WHAT!!?!?!?!?!!?
I had to power off the system and restart it. The setup ran much quicker since all the files were installed until it reached that point. Again it ate shit and died. I tried again....same result. Bria is laughing at my woes all the while over the phone. I took all the unnecessary peripherals out of my box, and tried again. I called Oki. Answering machine. I looked for Loki's number. I know I have it somewhere. I thought about calling HighLearn's parents to get his number, but it was getting late. Damn Americans. I had to call for reinforcements from Canada...it was a good reason to call and talk to Suraklin anyow, but his Windows 2000 knowledge is pretty comparable to mine. I was left frustrated and staring at my computer while Bria (on the phone again) was attempting to coax me away from the blasted thing so I would talk.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm going to snap the win2k cd in two as soon as I can find a copy of Windows 98 or Windows Me. Maybe...MAYBE, I'll get it running today.
