Does anyone celebrate holidays like Memorial Day anymore? I know no one who put any thought whatsoever into this Memorial Day. My family isn't exactly the holiday type since they basically aren't thrilled about being around eachother, so it was no surprise that nothing was planned. Fine by me though, I go and visit who I want to. I spent most of the weekend with my dad and brother, who coincidentally hold the same views on cemeteries as myself: memories of passed loved ones are not found in a piece of marble on a plot of ground. When I 'm finished with my container they can cremate me, take me out with the trash, plant me in the garden, or even take me to a taxidermist and use me as a doorstop...I'd be quite the conversation piece. It's a bit inane, but I guess society as individuals doesn't want to be forgotten.
