highlearn...or anyknowledgeablebody else, do you have any recommendations for a projector?  I'm considering this one...Mitsubishi HC1500.   Also, are HD-upconverting dvd players worthwhile?  The customer reviews I've read have praised the difference in video quality...anyone have any opinions to add?

I'm not terribly familiar with projectors but I can find out, and yes upconverts are worth it as long as you're using a HD picture (like that projector) and the right connection (eg hdmi)

Roger. I've considered picking one up for my HDTV and that projector. Any info you can gather would be appreciated.

I'd say just spend the extra $200 and get an HD-DVD or blu-ray player if one of those wasn't going to tank it in the next 2 years.. it'd be an extra $300 or $400 for a dual player..

so like HL says, maybe an upsampling player is worth it for the interim.

I'm considering getting one.
