May. 15th, 2003 02:36 amMy phone and internet service were restored yesterday - five days after a tornado passed a quarter of a mile south of my apartment on Saturday taking out trees, phone lines, and a roof or three. I slept through most of the storm after working an all-day golf tournament on Friday and then staying out all night drinking with co-workers and friends, so I walked outside post-noonuously and was greeted by a perfect day. I picked up a card and gift certificate and drove to Indianapolis to spend the evening/night at my mom's since I would be busy working all afternoon on Mother's Day. I didn't get any pictures of the havoc created by the tornado or of my family's Mother's Day gathering, but I did however take a fairly uninteresting picture of a rabid vampire bat about five minutes ago. It's too bad Verizon keeps telling me that my web space is locked and that my username doesn't exist or I'd share it.
I watched an hour of the new Headbanger's Ball while at my mom's on Saturday night. I got really really bored and wandered off to read (Jeffrey Deaver - The Vanished Man). I've been hauling in way too much music that doesn't suck lately to sit around and waste my time wondering if the new Metallica album will be their best effort to date blah blah blah hype hype hype heard it all before. Maybe when I'm sitting around bored and higher than rabid vampire batshit while scoring their mp3's I'll be enthused. As a vehicle for media exposure in a genre filled with a multitude of sub-genres, The Rose Hulman Institute of Technology's radio station holds the Headbanger's Ball show's coffin nails even in this culturally-deprived region, and since they don't cater to ad-campaigned musicianship the programming is influenced by those who are knowleadgeable of musicians on independent or minor labels. I know. I have no life.
My sister's wedding is this weekend. I'm a groomsman in the wedding party, and Jeanne is driving up to be my date. Hopefully she'll have fun and the wedding will go well.
Verizon has stopped being a bitch (for the time being), so I uploaded my fairly uninteresting rabid vampire bat pic and my Sister and future Brother-in-law's wedding announcement that the local newspaper butchered right nice.

higher than rabid vampire batshit.

good omens.
