Today I dreamt that I was walking through the desert. It was a dark night, and the worn path in front of me through the sand was the only visible feature. I walked for a while, and up ahead I saw a Coca-Cola vending machine that cast a brilliant glow of red and white in the vicinity where it beaconed. I walked to it and saw that it was battered, with cracks and holes in the machine's case. I heard a voice say, "it's full of spiders," and it may have been my own. I looked inside a hole in the backlit Coke graphic and saw thousands of spiders with dime-size bodies writhing, climbing, crawling, and creeping. (among the other things spiders do.) I started getting bit by mosquitos, and I understood that the luminance of the Coke machine was beckoning every mosquito within a five mile radius. While the spiders had made a business of feasting on the mosquitos like kings, the mosquitos had quickly learned that my blood was their livelihood. I swatted them away from my face. They kept biting. The mosquitos were....furry. Furry...and purring. And licking my face with a sandpaper tongue while sitting on my chest. And..."HI...YOU'RE AWAKE!!!!"
