I'll bet that you can't drink an entire 2 liter bottle of Coca-Cola in ten minutes or less. About a week ago I started a competition at the golf course among the clubhouse staff after my initial attempt (and success) at making one of them throw up on an off-hand dare. Everyone wanted on board after that with a small wager in the mix, so the task morphed into how many 32 oz. cups from the soda fountain they could drink in ten minutes. Last night I had my second losing contender and regurgitator after only three glasses. Everyone thinks that they can do it, and after close to a liter has been rapidly consumed they all make the same tell-tale face. I'm glad that they are quick enough to make it to the restroom before they call the bears, and that they have to clean the toilets.
I won another friendly wager last night when Pujols smoked a fastball by Smoltz to put St. Louis ahead of Atlanta by one run to win the game and two of three in the series. I'm not gloating...just rather lucky. While on the topic of betting on baseball, I think that Pete Rose's active return to the game as a manager would be the best thing for the game since the record-breaking home run race between McGwire and Sosa. Pete and Repete were in a boat...Pete fell out...who was left?
