Sep. 30th, 2002 04:55 amI woke up to the sound of pouring rain
the wind would whisper and I'd think of youuuuu...
just kidding.
I woke up to the sound of...nothing. My apartment was devoid of the ambience of the refrigerator's perpetual hum or the common whir of the floor fan in my living room, and my alarm clock was lurking dead in the black. I groped my way to my front door and looked outside to see that the entire complex was without power, and then I tried to find some clothes to wear. I can usually see pretty well in the dark, but I couldn't find my ass with both hands since my bedroom is so dark anyhow. I found my closet and was trying to choose attire based on feel and a guess of the corresponding article when the power came back on. I was already half an hour late for work so I took a quick shower, put on the clothes I had blindly selected, and took off. I'm here.
I spent all my free time over the weekend with my family. I worked at the course on Saturday morning...it was an easy day and I got a promotion. The club pro asked me if I'd like to work in the pro shop, so I accepted and will probably start training in a month or so. I like working outside well enough, but I doubt I'll regret taking it. Anyhow, I got off work and hit Toys R'Us to buy some things for my nieces and nephews before I went to my nephew's birthday party. Masters of the Universe and the Care Bears were hella swell when I was a kid, so I bought them each one and hit the road. The party was fun. I ate a lot and took some pictures. Later in the evening I called Charley (my ex-stepdad), and my brother and I met him at a bar in Robinson for a few beers. Charley and I were going golfing the next morning followed by a family dinner, so I crashed at his place, woke up bright and early, washed and waxed my truck, went golfing, and attended a family dinner. I ate a lot and took some pictures.
