Washed out...wiped...drained...and after eight hours of troubleshooting I still don't have my home system running in a stable manner. I only slept for an hour yesterday because I couldn't make myself wander away from it before resolving the problem. By ten o'clock it was clear that I wasn't getting anywhere, and Waterworld was becoming no brighter a cinematic vision than it was the first time I saw it, so I called it a day, napped, and came to work. I have more of the same to look forward to today...I have a couple more ideas and then I'm taking it to the hardware shop and throwing it through their front window...or taking it inside and asking them for help.

On a related note, I had to reformat my dad's computer last weekend due to my little sister's inability to be more than useless and problematic. I predicted that it would be a month before I'd have to do it, but it didn't make it two weeks. I didn't have any of my driver disks with me so I reformatted it and let it sit in its levelled state. I'm going to turn my brother loose on it so that he can learn to take care of it. I'm wasting my time unless a divine entity performs a miracle with her maturity level or my dad and step-mom's tolerance of misery.

In clearer skies...I got a raise from the University (not in my pants) AND landed a part-time job in the pro shop of a local golf course yesterday. The raise isn't a whole lot, but I can't complain. I talked to the club pro yesterday and he said he could probably give me three eight-hour days a week. I'll also get the benefits of free green fees, carts, and driving range balls at all the local courses, [carl spackler] so I've got that going for me. [/carl spackler] It'd be superflyfuckincalifragilisticexpialidociously nice if only Dusty would replace my golf clubs. I haven't heard from him since the first week of June and I have no idea where he is since he was discharged from the Navy, so I might as well start saving to buy a set and then collect from him when the opportunity arises.

I can't run in the mornings at our regular time anymore. We have new queue jobs that need stopped and started at around six a.m., so I'll either have to go alone at three or four a.m. or talk Joe into going late in the morning.

My lax routine is taking water fast, but it's a change I think I need. Man overbored.

I get bored.

Sometimes I hold the camera at arm's length and take a picture of myself so that I can see how bored I look.

This has been one of those times.
