i was so pleased to meet you that i forgot who i was.

I woke up (late) and called the Verge to tell him that I was going to be late and to have a merry Christmas. I checked my messages, and Mandy had been through Terre Haute and wanted to stop and see me. I was asleep while she sat at McDonald's for an hour trying to reach me. I'm disappointed that I didn't get to go see her, but surprised and elated that she wanted to after I blew her off in lieu of my own extant self-imposed ostracism. Instead of going to work I called her cellphone and caught her about fifty miles west of St. Louis. We had a great conversation, but she started losing the signal and I told her that I'd call her this weekend. I'm looking forward to it. She is giving me more than I deserve.

I wandered around Terre Haute all morning, finished my Christmas shopping, fondled a few guitars at the Music Shoppe, composed offhanded conversation among shoppers and clerks, and took Alex to Burger King because he mentioned he was hungry. I dropped into Joe and Stacey's apartment for a few, and went home and hung the leftover decorative lights that they gave me.

I got an e-mail from Bread...he invited me over to his parents (my ex-step-aunt and uncle) for a Christmas gathering. That'll be nice. He wants to get together and play music too...I've given him the fever.

After work I'm going to Palestine to help my Grandad with his aluminum cans and take them to the recycling center, and then I'm going to chill with Falseye for the day.

In two hours my Christmas vacation begins. I have to stop in on Sunday and then I'm off until January 2nd. I've been so damn bored here at work that I'm highly looking forward to the time away. I've been so damn bored here at work that I've been reading my own livejournal from the beginning.

I still haven't made any plans for new year's eve...I wonder where I'll end up. I still haven't returned Danny and Carolyn's phone calls...I had a dream about them yesterday evening so they've been on my mind. I still haven't seen LotR...but I will.
