I decided it was time to replace the battery in my distortion pedal today, so I learned about six new songs to tantalize my neighbors with. For the past month I've resisted the temptation to swipe the battery out of the smoke detector and put it in my pedal, and it never crosses my mind to buy one though they are readily available at every gas station, grocery store, and discount store around. The battery is a 9 volt...they are common...I'm a bit of a moron about some things. Last December my apartment duplex burned halfway down...luckily it was the other half that burned, and we were only blessed with a solid layer of smoke on everything we owned and a touch of water. My roommates were away in Chicago...I was awakened by my roommate's dog Dopey who was freaking out since the air in our apartment was becoming unbreathable. Hmmmmmmmm...for some reason our smoke detector didn't sound an alarm...mysterious.
